Abstract
The purpose of the exercise is to show the processes of switching on and off direct current, phenomena that take place in the area between contacts, and the construction and operation of the contactors. The exercise presents the impact of inductance on the switching process. Switching off of direct current was analysed both theoretically and practically with measurements. The laboratory setup is presented with a short description and results from operating it.
