Abstract
We are presenting a case report of a direct anterior knee-lift as an adjunct to thigh-lift surgery on a patient with massive weight loss. Our literature review resulted in numerous thigh-lifting articles, but no success in finding an article that discusses skin laxity directly over the knee or any specific procedure to correct skin laxity in this region. We have tried various inverted T-type incisions at the inferior end of an extended vertical thigh-lift but have had less than ideal results because this incision wraps around the knee. Therefore, during a recent live American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery surgical workshop on post bariatric surgery, a patient who desired maximum lift of the entire thigh, as well as the skin above the knee, volunteered for a direct anterior knee-lift to attempt significant improvement of her cutis laxis just above her knees.
