Abstract

Now is the time to start planning the Investigators’ and Clinical Investigators’ Workshops for the 2014 AES Annual Meeting. As in the past, the Workshop Selection Committee hopes to receive many suggestions from the AES membership and is eager to hear about topics that are of interest to you.
All proposals must be submitted on line via the following URL:
The website also includes further information and guidelines about the recommended format of the IWs. Please state clearly the scientific substance of the proposal, and why you feel that the topic is timely and interesting to the epilepsy community. To encourage a true workshop format, identify 1–3 objectives which will be addressed by the speakers and in an interactive discussion period.
Please note that basic science proposals are submitted as Investigator Workshops (IW), and clinical proposals as Clinical Investigator Workshops (CIW). The duration of IWs and CIWs is 90 minutes, with
One of the workshops will be designated a translational investigators workshop (TIW) and offer a longer (2 hour) time slot, with the potential to include up to four speakers. This workshop should be truly translational, incorporating both clinicians and basic scientists, and addressing a specific clinical or research question in a cross-disciplinary manner. Please indicate in your proposal if your IW/CIW suggestion addresses this slot, and if so, why you believe it is particularly appropriate to be considered as a translational IW. If not selected, proposals for a TIW will be further considered either as a CIW or IW with only three speakers.
Please submit complete proposals no later than
