Abstract

The mission of OOTR
OOTR is a non-profit international organisation that conducts translational research in the Asia Pacific region. It was founded in 2002 by Dr. Masakazu Toi, a Japan-based oncologist, and Dr. Louis Chow, a Hong Kong-based breast cancer specialist. One of the main objectives of OOTR is to promote cancer research between international investigators, and create hope against cancer.
OOTR has now recruited medical professionals from many different countries including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Israel, the United States, and Hong Kong to work together in the field of translational research. OOTR also regularly shares the concept of translational research and new treatment strategies with clinicians and scientists at international medical conferences. OOTR hopes that, through these vital exchanges, new thinking and discoveries will give rise to faster and better ways to fight cancer.
IJBM-OOTR partnership
In order to further their strategic goals and ambitions, IJBM and OOTR have formed a mutually beneficial and cooperative partnership. The hope is that through this partnership they will be able to work together to bring information on the latest developments in cancer biomarker research to a wider audience and further the causes of both organisations. With IJBM's wide international readership and focus on cancer biomarkers and OOTR's knowledge and experience in the study of cancer treatment, this will surely lead to a greater understanding of current issues and developments in cancer treatment and cancer biomarkers.
