Metanephric adenoma is a rare benign tumor of the kidney polycythemia is associated and it might be possible to suspect the diagnosis of this neoplasia.
Methods
From the beginning of 2000 till the end 2011, we identified eight male patients with methanephric adenoma in our hospital, only two of these were selected to surgery for this tumor; in the other six the finding occasionally at pathological anatomy other pathology of the kidney.
Results
All patients are in good clinical condition except two died for other diseases. The mean (range) dimension was about 2 cm.
Conclusion
The adenoma is a benign condition; suspect this adenomais recommended nephron sparing surgery.
