The 2025 AOTA Annual Business Meeting was held virtually on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST. More than 340 members registered from over 46 states and territories (Figure 1). The meeting has been held virtually since 2020, which has enhanced accessibility and enabled broader member engagement across geographic regions. Figure 2 shows registrant breakdown by membership type and primary SIS.

AOTA Board President Dr. Arameh Anvarizadeh called the meeting to order. A quorum was confirmed, and Dr. Anvarizadeh provided Association highlights from fiscal year 2025. Dr. Anvarizadeh was joined by AOTA Vice President of Membership Development & Data Science, Dr. Jeremy Furniss, who provided a membership report for the members, highlighting AOTA’s focus on membership stability. The Finance and Audit Committee report was provided by Board Treasurer, Dr. Benjamin Gross; the Representative Assembly report was provided by Speaker Dr. Halley Read; a Strategic Planning update and Vision 2030 update was provided by Board Vice President, Dr. Cristina Reyes Smith, who noted that the Board is beginning this strategic work; and a look at upcoming events was provided by Board Secretary, Dr. Leslie Jackson.
AOTA CEO Dr. Katie Jordan opened the question-and-answer phase of the meeting, facilitating member questions addressed by the Board of Directors as well as by AOTA staff. Member questions focused on topics including membership trends, the mental health certification program, advocacy activities, and INSPIRE, among other topics. The meeting was closed by Board President Dr. Anvarizadeh. The recording of the meeting was shared with members on CommunOT and on the AOTA website.
