Abstract
The aim and scope of this review is to examine the general characteristics of deep somatic and visceral pain in man and to show how various pathophysiological mechanisms are active in classical pain syndromes of the limbs, head, chest and abdomen. In the general part are considered the localization and spread of deep somatic and visceral pain, the ischemic pain, the referred pain. In the clinical part are considered some painful affections that have a typical character and show how the pathophysiological mechanisms above described are efficient in man: acute gouty arthritis, chronic obstructive arterial disease, migraine, ischemic cardiac affections, pleuritis, lung tumors, gastric pain.
