Abstract
This paper is intended to give electro-acupuncture specialists a deeper insight into the electronics and mathematics required to understand relaxation type pulse generators used in electro-acupuncture stimulation. The paper initially deals with the mathematics involved in understanding relaxation oscillator waveshapes. An electronic discussion follows that is divided into four main parts:
Transistor Multivibrators Integrated Circuit Multivibrators Integrated Operational Amplifier Multivibrators Integrated Circuit Timers
The IC's used in most of the electronic discussions are of the dual in-line 8, 14, or 16 pin configuration. Since the cost of these IC units is so small, serious practitioners should find it quite easy to experiment with building and designing their own acupuncture generators.
