The key elements of physics involved in the Kirlian process and the corresponding set of simultaneous equations that must be satisfied during the discharge are presented. Explanations of almost all the experimental observations made to date are forthcoming from this equation set. The .theoretical foundation for building a future array of research tools based on this process has been given.
