Abstract
Through the use of a literature review, this article will examine the evolution of the transition from the school room to the workplace for adolescents with developmental disabilities. It will explain an ideal occupational therapy program based on a current model used with this transition and demonstrate how occupational therapy can benefit the student during this phase of his/her life. A case study will be cited to describe how a combination of current programs and occupational therapy can be implemented.
