Abstract
The work of the Conference in the field of electronic data processing is performed through the Working Party on Electronic Data Processing and through the ISIS Seminars. The Working Party facilitates the exchange of national experiences gained in practical computer operations. The ISIS Seminars have been held regularly at the Computing Research Centre, Bratislava (Czechoslovakia) since 1971. They supplement the work of the Working Party by providing a forum for the exchange of information on ongoing work in international and national statistical offices on the development of new software products and of automated statistical information systems.
The Working Party is presently preparing a Directory of generalized computer programs which are used in national statistical offices.
An intercountry project on the use of computers for statistical purposes and the development of automated statistical information systems has been launched.
The ISIS Seminars are increasingly considering the problems of statistical information systems and of data modelling.
