Abstract
In this paper, to derive the characteristics of the load frequency of fracture life under the conditions of creep, fatigue and creep‐fatigue interaction and multiplication, a theoretical three‐dimensional curved surface which represents the transition characteristic from the cyclic dependent mechanism to the time dependent mechanism of fracture life is considered as a phenomenon of phase change. This analysis was conducted based on the concept of non‐equilibrium science. That is, a function F was defined as a catastrophic function. The analysis of its stable and unstable state was conducted which characterizes the transition behaviors from the cyclic dependent mechanism to the time dependent mechanism. On the basis of these results, the interactive effect of creep and fatigue on the fracture life was investigated.
