Abstract
Pharmacologic management of children in habilitation or rehabilitation differs substantially from that of adults. Metabolic differences between children and adults mandate careful selection of pharmacologic therapies for the pediatric population. Adverse side effects of medications are of greater concern due to interference with developmental processes. In this article, pharmacologic treatment for seizures, seizure prophylaxis and traumatic brain injury, spasticity, and behavioral disorders are discussed.
