Abstract
We report the case of a preterm newborn with a large cystic abdominal mass diagnosed prenatally, which caused respiratory impairment at birth. The mass was an ovarian cyst and was successfully excised on the second postnatal day. We review cystic abdominal masses in the fetus and newborn from diagnostic and therapeutic viewpoints.
