Abstract
We report a case of antenatal intestinal perforation and meconium periorchitis in an infant born to a mother who was maintained on NSAIDS due to a history of rheumatoid arthritis. The intestinal perforation had not completely healed prior to birth, which resulted in a pneumoperitoneum after the introduction of feeds. We caution against early or aggressive feeding regimes in infants presenting with any signs of antenatal intestinal perforation.
