Abstract
In this paper a circular version of diagonal systematic sampling has been proposed. The proposed method is compared with the classical circular systematic sampling using natural populations, non-linear populations simulated from well known distributions and a super population model associated with linear trend. Further, Yates corrected estimator is also developed for the proposed sampling method and compared with its analogue under circular systematic sampling with the help of appropriate super population models. Results of the study lead to the conclusion that the proposed method performs better than circular systematic sampling especially for natural populations and populations having non-linear trend.
