Abstract
Formulas for optimum cost allocation that minimizes total survey cost under precision constraints under stratified two-stage sampling are presented in the paper. Two designs are considered, namely a self-weighting design in strata and a design with fixed sample size of secondary sampling units from primary sampling units in strata. In addition, stratification problems under these two designs are introduced.
