Abstract
The moulding process is quite complex and involves many variable process parameters like pressure, temperature and time settings. These process parameters have to be optimally set in order to improve the manufactured part quality and maximize the production capacity of the injection moulding. In order to monitor the production process, algorithms and methods for the intelligent interpretation of the gathered data are developed, which allow the simulation of different scenarios for forecasting the injection mould tool's further behaviour in operation. Flexible software architecture is required to provide the necessary reasoning on rapidly changing data within strict time requirements. In this paper the architecture of decision support tools is considered and the implementation of the rule template editor is described.
