Abstract
An example of the application of a multiple comparison test to the estimation of residential demand for natural gas relationships using annual, state level data is set forth. The use of the multiple comparison procedure to specify fixed state effects is discussed. Since multiple comparison tests are not used much in econometric analysis the chosen multiple comparison procedure is discussed within the context of alternative multiple comparison procedures. Comments on the possible application of these tests to other economic analyses are also discussed.
