Abstract
Thin steel plates are widely used in various industrial products. However, deterioration of their surface quality and metal plating occur to movement. As a solution to these problems, non-contact transportation of a steel plate using electromagnetic force has been proposed. In this study, a thin steel plate (0.24 mm thickness) was magnetically levitated, and we carried out experiments using the one-degree of freedom model and continuous model for levitation control to determine the effect of a magnetic field from the horizontal direction applied to the levitated steel plate on its elastic vibration.
