Abstract
The authors present an evaluation of the contributions of Indian medical research organizations based on publications and citations found in Indian Science Abstracts. Using threshold limits, the authors rank institutions producing material in cancer, heart disease, obstetrics and gynaecology, and tuberculosis. Additional data are presented placing medical research publication in perspective with other fields of science.
