Abstract
In Finland health registers are typically well developed. On the other hand, databases on environmental information are only just beginning to develop. They are limited in accuracy, scope, and availability. Most information regarding the state of environment is collected by researchers or research institutes manually and the files are poorly available for other researchers. There are now extensive plans to improve the situation, but implementation will probably take several years.
