Abstract
The pattern was set for NTIS cooperation with public and private institutions around the world by President Harry Truman in 1945. Since then the NTIS mission of ensuring economic growth through effective use of the world's technical information has been achieved through partnerships with US and foreign governments and businesses. About 30% of NTIS input now comes from foreign sources, continually building and enriching the archive of almost two million items. Both input and dissemination are managed by the NTIS global network of 110 cooperating organizations in 60 countries. Summaries of items available are announced both by NTIS and its partners in traditional paper and microfiche products as well as in the modem electronic forms: online and CD-ROM. New partnerships and joint ventures will be described as well as the NTIS strategy for future cooperation and growth.
