New developments in videotex and their implications for computer aided instruction (CAI) *

Abstract

In this paper we attempt to substantiate our claim that (a) videotex as originally conceived in England under the trade-mark PRESTEL is unsuitable for CAI, but that (b) it does turn into a promising tool for CAI if intelligent VTX-decoders such as MUPID are used.
