Abstract
This paper is dealing with the analysis of the dynamic behaviour of the controllable pitch propeller control system. Mathematical models – non-linear as well as linearised – for this system have been developed. By means of digital and analog simulations with these models steady state solutions and dynamic responses were obtained. Data on pitch accuracy, stability of the control system and valve characteristics are given. Instability has been found for particular dimensions with both digital and analog approach. It is shown how instabilities can be avoided. Also measures to improve accuracy are indicated. From the linear model a simplified simulation model for future application has been derived.
