An analytical method for determination of ship’s bending moment in a seaway under static equilibrium when Smith effect is taken into consideration

Abstract

In his papers [1] and [2], the author dealt with the problem of the determination of the ship’s bending moment in a seaway under static equilibrium. The present paper is a further effort to study this problem, the author taking into consideration here the influence of the Smith effect as well. In this paper the problem is solved in principle.
