Abstract
As product life cycles have become shorter, the length of time required to develop new products (the time-to-market interval) has become a critical competitive problem for many companies. This paper summarizes some approaches that can be used to reduce this interval. Companies must change to a time-based mindset and develop a new design paradigm. Finally, the paper suggests an approach using real time-to-market data to drive the needed changes
