Abstract
This article presents a design method for discrete-time fuzzy control systems. The method is based on a discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy state space model. A suitable quadratic Lyapunov function is used to establish asymptotic stability of the closed loop system. A necessary and sufficient condition for stabilization of a discrete-time fuzzy control system is given. Further-more, a constructive algorithm is developed to obtain the stabilizing feedback control law. The stabilization algorithm involves solving a certain discrete-time algebraic Riccati equation. Two examples are given to illustrate the application of the method.
