Abstract
In this article, a method has been introduced to estimate the operational profile of a software. This procedure incorporates the linguistic and qualitative data of various preferred usage profiles. The concepts of theory of fuzzy subsets have been used to quantify the given qualitative data of usage profiles in the form of fuzzy numbers. Different rankings of usage profiles for different users obtained by the procedure enable us to identify the reactions or disagreements inherent among the users. Incorporation of various reactions that exist among users gives us an agreement matrix. This helps in finding a consensus ranking for the system operational profile.
