Abstract
The Editorial Board of this Journal invited me to write my story about the old days of computer Go. What types of techniques did we use at the time? How did my program achieve to be a three-time winner of the Computer-Go World Championship? This contribution is largely based on my memory, so the chronology of some events may not be entirely accurate. The first World Computer-Go Championship has been organized by Ing Chang-ki in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1985. I started to participate in 1987. My first victory was in 1989. After three titles (1989-1991) I decided to end my Go-programming competition career.
