Abstract
Quinlan’s studies of the two-ply KRKN-endgame positions have been scrutinized anew, with a view to filling his lacunae. We present three specific amendments to Quinlan: (a) a closer definition of some of his attributes; (b) the occasional irrelevance of some of his attributes and, hence, a corrected decision tree; (c) the removal of errors from Quinlan’s decision tree; and most importantly (d) a classification of all two-ply KRKN positions such that they are completely decisive, i.e., never have to invoke any ad hoc evaluation.
