Abstract
Many elements of pharmaceutical corporate strategies can be re-described and re-evaluated from a perspective that sees dialectical tensions at all levels of economic and social systems. Whilst dialectical reason is applicable to the formulation and evaluation of corporate strategies in general, it is especially relevant to strategies involving health, where it highlights the potential of business-government partnerships. Several ways of augmenting corporate and industry strategy and communications are indicated, in accordance with this perspective.
