Abstract
The complexity and the dynamic nature of technology relations between Japan and the United States have been complicated as the industrial weakness of the United States has been exposed by its massive, continuing trade deficits. Throughout the postwar years, the Japanese government has been active in establishing an industrial policy by absorbing imported technology into its thriving industrialization. This served Japanese educational system well as a supplier of a highly skilled labor force for its industries.
