Abstract
The French-speaking scientific community which contributes to the contemporary development of systemics perceives itself almost simultaneously with a superiority and an inferiority complex. This is a paradoxical situation which might be interesting to discuss in order to identify in this history-lade tension a few main trends; secondarily, this article also might enrich our collective understanding of systemics, whether it be French, English, German, or any other.
