Abstract
More advanced resources needed to provide a service portfolio that responds to the rapid growth of an ageing population is a concern for many governments in developed countries. This paper explores the convergent insights of three conceptual frameworks to identify where age-aware e-Government is more likely to be designed effectively. It shows how the social and relational capital of the Italian “industrial districts” make them ideal settings, receptive to the implementation of age aware e-Government services, thanks to both the innovative mindset of the business community and their rich social capital.
