Training librarians in the production of distance learning materials: experiences of the PROLIB project

Abstract

This article provides a background to the PROLIB project which is involved with development and delivery of distance learning courses in a variety of subjects (including Managing Change, Customer Care, Electronic Publishing and Digital Libraries) to library and information professionals in the Slovakia. In particular, the “Training the Trainers”, workshop on distance learning provided by the Open Learning Unit at the University of Wales Aberystwyth for the developers of these courses is described. PROLIB is a project funded by the European Union's TEMPUS Phare Programme.
