The process of introducing Internet-based classroom projects and the role of school librarians

Abstract

This paper describes the development of K-12 networks in the United States and Canada. It also describes a project using participatory design in support of Internet classroom activities. The role of school librarians in the project is examined. An argument for more involvement in the development of K-12 Internet classroom projects by schools of library and information science is made.
