Abstract
This paper describes a course on database construction which is given at the Department of Library and Information Studies, Faculty of Information and Communication, General Polytechnic of Amsterdam. The course is based on the results of an experiment carried out two years ago, which in turn was based on a research project. A brief description is given of a refresher course for practitioners on the same subject, which was derived from the standard programme.
