Abstract
The skills and attitudes of the ideal business information specialist are outlined. These include computing and technical knowledge, management and information skills and an understanding of the business environment and corporate culture. A plea is made that Departments of Information Studies should reassess the content of their business information courses to take account of the real needs of employers.
