Abstract
A study of students completing the BLS programme in the Department of Library Science, Ahmadu Bello University, is discussed. The study found that those students who entered the programme without the normal University admission requirements but with a Diploma in Library Science already gained in the University, performed at least as well as those students with the normal requirements.
