Asymptotic analysis of linearly elastic shells: error estimates in the membrane case

Abstract

In this work we consider a family of linearly elastic shells, all having the same middle surface, assumed to be “elliptic”. We give an error estimate between the solution of the three‐dimensional equations and the solution of the two‐dimensional “membrane” shell equations. The proof uses a corrector method.
