Abstract
Water quality models are tools for simulating the movement of precipitation and pollutant from the surface through pipe and channel networks, storage, treatment units and finally to receiving waters (Brown and Barnwell, 1987). In the present study, an attempt is made to know the level of knowledge and perception on water quality models by potential users. In this context 113 potential users were selected to measure their ability to understand the fundamentals of water quality modeling. The association between knowledge and perception of the potential users with variables such as age, level of education and experience were determined by chi square test and it was found that results are highly associated with knowledge and perception.
