ECAI '90: The Invited Speakers

Abstract

This year's ECAI, held in Stockholm from August 6 to 10, had three invited speakers, namely Barbara Grosz, Marc Fox and Peter Gärdenfors.

This article presents excerpts, reflecting the main thrust of two of the invited lectures. The talk given by Barbara Grosz could not, for technical reasons, be printed in the present issue, but we hope to do so in the next issue. The readers should understand that the excerpts reflect free speech, not manuscripts. Of course the talks were accompanied by overhead-sheets which we are unfortunately unable to show.
