Abstract
The increasing importance of Knowledge-Based Systems (KBS) demands the development a KBS building methodology covering all KBS life-cycle. One part of this methodology, KBS validation, is addressed in this paper showing the current state of the art. KBS validation is centered in three main issues: structural verification, functional verification and evaluation. For each issue the most relevant validation systems available are briefly exposed, showing the relationships among them and pointing out the features that are missing for achieving a true validation of current KBS.
