Abstract
This paper reviews six female clients presenting with mild dysphonia following minor road traffic accidents. All clients suffered whiplash injuries with marked stress reactions but no concomitant soft tissue damage. All six were involved in litigation proceedings arising from their accidents. The review examines the possible etiological factors involved and emphasises the relationship between laryngeal muscular dysfunction and stress.
