Abstract
Many studies have been undertaken, over a number of years, to establish if a relationship exists between auditory discrimination and phonological disability. Results of such studies are conflicting, reasons for this lack of consensus are proposed. A study is described where the discrimination errors of a group of subjects with phonological disability are compared to the errors of matched subjects with normal articulation. No difference in the number or type of errors was found.
