Abstract
The synthesis of eight functionalised hexahydropyrimidines in good to excellent yields has been achieved via a three-component 1:1:1 reaction of a triarylphosphine, a dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate and a N-formylurea or N-formylthiourea at room temperature.
