Abstract
New bis-heterocyclic thiadiazine derivatives containing a tetrazole nucleus have been synthesised by simple, high yielding routes and characterised by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectral analysis. The key step in the construction of the six-substituted 7H-tetrazolo[5,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazine derivatives involved the cyclocondensation of sodium 1-amino-1H-tetrazole-5-thiolate with α-haloketones. The radical scavenging activity of the new tetrazolothiadiazines was also investigated.
