Abstract
A Brønsted acidic deep eutectic solvent based on choline chloride and p-toluenesulfonic acid was prepared and was found to be effective for the one-pot synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted and 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles with high yields. In addition, the deep eutectic solvent is non-toxic, cost-effective and recyclable.
