Abstract
Highly regioselective cycloadditions occur in reactions of substituted isothiocyanates and epichlorohydrin to give N-(5-(chloromethyl)-1,3-oxathiolan-2-ylidene)anilines catalysed by Yb(OTf)3. The configuration is retained at the chiral centres of the epoxides.
